Pennsylvania High School Basketball - East Allegheny topped by Freeport
January 24, 2023: North Versailles, PA 15137 The Freeport Yellowjackets basketball team scored 76 points and restricted the host East Allegheny Wild Cats to 56 in the Yellowjackets non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Yellowjackets now sport a 10-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Knoch for a WPIAL 4A 1 contest on Friday, January 27. Freeport will battle a Knights team coming off a 69-38 non-league loss to Kiski Area (Vandergrift, PA). The Knights record now stands at 4-12.
The Wild Cats (2-12) will now prepare for their contest against Quaker Valley (Leetsdale, PA). The Quakers come into the WPIAL 4A 4 contest with a 9-5 record. In their last contest, Quaker Valley was defeated by Greater Latrobe (Latrobe, PA), 50-47, in a non-league contest.
