Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions (Kingsville, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Falfurrias Fightin' Jerseys (Falfurrias, TX), 24-20 in a league bout.

With the win, Santa Gertrudis Academy upgrades its record to 15-12 on the season. The Lions travel to Banquete (Banquete, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A Region IV District 30 bout on Friday, January 27. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 16-10. Banquete won 52-39 in their recent league bout against San Diego (San Diego, TX)

Next up, the Fightin' Jerseys play the Banquete Bulldogs (Banquete, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 30 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Falfurrias will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record.
