The Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL) basketball edged the host Argo Argonauts (Summit, IL), 51-49 in Friday's league bout.

The Astros now possess a 8-13 record. They play next when they travel to Blue Island Eisenhower for a South Suburban bout on Tuesday, January 28. Shepard will play a Cardinals team coming off a 64-59 league win over Richards (Oak Lawn, IL). The Cardinals record now stands at 7-12.

With the loss, Argo falls to 9-11 on the campaign. The Argonauts host Lisle (Lisle, IL) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 25. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 5-15. Lisle lost 53-38 in their recent league bout against Coal City (Coal City, IL)
