In Friday's non-league contest, the host Howell Rebels basketball team scored a good 56-48 triumph over the Brick Memorial Mustangs.

The Rebels (8-7) will now prepare for their contest against St. Rose (Belmar, NJ). The Purple Roses go into the Shore A - Central contest with a 11-5 record. In their last contest, St. Rose was topped by Union Catholic (Scotch Plains, NJ), 62-59, in a non-league contest.
