The John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers (Birmingham, AL) basketball edged the visiting Sipsey Valley Bears (Buhl, AL), 62-55 in Friday's league bout.

The Cavaliers now possess a 11-14 record. They play next when they travel to Wenonah for a 5A Area 9 bout on Tuesday, January 28. John Carroll Catholic will play a Dragons team coming off a 80-52 non-league win over Fultondale (Birmingham, AL). The Dragons record now stands at 16-8.
