Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Neighborhood Academy thwarts Monessen
January 24, 2025: Monessen, PA 15062 The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Neighborhood Academy (Pittsburgh, PA) and the host Monessen Greyhounds (Monessen, PA), observed Neighborhood Academy's basketball team knock off Monessen by a score of 71-55.
The (17-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Environmental Charter (Pittsburgh, PA). The Hawks come into the WPIAL 1A 2 challenge with a 1-11 record. In their last challenge, Environmental Charter was knocked off by St. Joseph (Natrona Heights, PA), 57-51, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Greyhounds encounter the Serra Catholic Eagles (McKeesport, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Monessen will attempt to improve on its 8-5 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 14-2 record after their 80-49 league win over Geibel Catholic (Connellsville, PA).
