January 24, 2025: Greene, IA 50636 North Butler Bearcats (Greene, IA) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting St. Ansgar Saints (St. Ansgar, IA), 39-22 in a league match.
With the victory, North Butler upgrades its record to 7-9 on the year. The Bearcats host New Hampton (New Hampton, IA) to face the Chickasaws in a non-league match on Monday, January 27. The Chickasaws enter the match with a record of 2-12. New Hampton lost 74-30 in their recent league match against Decorah-North Winneshiek (Decorah, IA)
The Saints now sport a 8-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Nashua-Plainfield for a Corn Bowl match on Tuesday, January 28. St. Ansgar will face a Huskies squad coming off a 77-45 non-league win over Central Springs (Manly, IA). The Huskies record now stands at 10-6.
