New Mexico High School Basketball - Sandia triumphant over Capital
January 24, 2025: Santa Fe, NM 87505 The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) and the host Capital Jaguars (Santa Fe, NM), observed Sandia's basketball team overwhelm Capital by a score of 59-26.
The Matadors (4-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Manzano (Albuquerque, NM). The Monarchs come into the non-league challenge with a 3-7 record. In their last challenge, Manzano was routed by Santa Fe (Santa Fe, NM), 48-21, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Jaguars encounter the La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 29. Capital will attempt to improve on its 4-10 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 41-30 non-league win over Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM).
