Texico Wolverines (Texico, NM) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host New Mexico Military Institute Colts (Roswell, NM), 50-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Texico upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Wolverines travel to Clayton (Clayton, NM) to play the Yellowjackets in a 2A District 6 bout on Thursday, January 27. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 10-4. Clayton won 59-50 in their recent non-league bout against Tucumcari (Tucumcari, NM)

Next up, the Colts play the Goddard Rockets (Roswell, NM) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 27. New Mexico Military Institute will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Rockets go into the bout with a 10-9 record after their 78-60 non-league win over Santa Teresa (Santa Teresa, NM).
