January 25, 2022: Oxford, CT 06478 Oxford Wolverines (Oxford, CT) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Wilby Wildcats (Waterbury, CT), 75-69 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Oxford upgrades its record to 2-6 on the campaign. The Wolverines host Seymour (Seymour, CT) to play the Wildcats in a Naugatuck Valley - Copper bout on Thursday, January 27. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 1-8. Seymour lost 81-61 in their recent non-league bout against Waterbury Career Academy (Waterbury, CT)
Next up, the Wildcats play the Holy Cross Crusaders (Waterbury, CT) in a Naugatuck Valley - Brass bout, on Friday, January 28. Wilby will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Crusaders come into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 69-53 non-league loss to Naugatuck (Naugatuck, CT).
