January 25, 2022: Providence, RI 02903 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the South Kingstown Rebels (Wakefield, RI) and the host Classical Purples (Providence, RI), saw South Kingstown's basketball squad overcome Classical by a tally of 70-62.
With the victory, South Kingstown improves its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Rebels host Barrington (Barrington, RI) to play the Eagles in a State Championship B challenge on Thursday, January 27. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 10-1. Barrington won 46-40 in their recent league challenge against Classical (Providence, RI)
Next up, the Purples play the St. Raphael Academy Saints (Pawtucket, RI) in a State Championship A challenge, on Thursday, January 27. Classical will attempt to improve on its 2-8 season record. The Saints come into the challenge with a 1-8 record after their 64-39 league loss to South Kingstown (Wakefield, RI).
