North Carolina High School Basketball - Mount Pleasant can't hold off Southwestern Randolph
January 25, 2025: Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124 Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Mount Pleasant Tigers (Mt. Pleasant, NC), 39-33 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Southwestern Randolph upgrades its record to 17-0 on the year. The Cougars travel to Providence Grove (Franklinville, NC) to face the Patriots in a 1A/2A Piedmont match on Tuesday, January 28. The Patriots enter the match with a record of 10-5. Providence Grove lost 44-33 in their recent league match against Uwharrie Charter Academy (Asheboro, NC)
The Tigers now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gray Stone Day for a 1A/2A Yadkin Valley match on Tuesday, January 28. Mount Pleasant will face a Knights squad coming off a 39-34 league win over South Stanly (Norwood, NC). The Knights record now stands at 2-10.
