The Conant Cougars (Hoffman Estates, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Hoffman Estates Hawks (Hoffman Estates, IL), 44-41 in Thursday's league test.

The Cougars (10-9) will now prepare for their test against Palatine (Palatine, IL). The Pirates go into the Mid-Suburban - West test with a 18-6 record. In their last test, Palatine got by Warren Township (Gurnee, IL), 67-44, in a non-league test.

The Hawks now own a 11-12 record. They play next when they host Fremd for a Mid-Suburban - West test on Tuesday, January 31. Hoffman Estates will encounter a Vikings squad coming off a 62-60 league win over Barrington (Barrington, IL). The Vikings record now stands at 14-7.
