January 26, 2023: Newark, NJ 07107 The Payne Tech Lions (Newark, NJ) basketball nipped the visiting Livingston Lancers (Livingston, NJ), 43-40 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Lions (9-7) will now prepare for their test against East Side (Newark, NJ). The Red Raiders go into the non-league test with a 11-8 record. In their last test, East Side got by Piscataway (Piscataway, NJ), 98-94, in a non-league test.
The Lancers now own a 10-7 record. They play next when they travel to Shabazz for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 31. Livingston will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 56-54 non-league loss to Nutley (Nutley, NJ). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-10.
