Florida High School Basketball - Bayshore nips Brandon Academy

Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Bayshore Bruins (Bradenton, FL) and the host Brandon Academy Scorpions (Brandon, FL), saw Bayshore's basketball squad hold off Brandon Academy by a count of 53-49.

With the victory, Bayshore upgrades its record to 9-12 on the campaign. The Bruins travel to Palmetto (Palmetto, FL) to play the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 29. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 10-8. Palmetto lost 65-54 in their recent non-league challenge against Winthrop College Prep Academy (Riverview, FL)

Next up, the Scorpions play the Cambridge Christian Lancers (Tampa, FL) in a 2A District 9 challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Brandon Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 10-13 season record. The Lancers come into the challenge with a 8-11 record after their 59-46 non-league loss to Sarasota Christian (Sarasota, FL).
