Maryland High School Basketball - Walter Johnson nips Northwestern
January 26, 2024: Bethesda, MD 20814 Walter Johnson Wildcats (Bethesda, MD) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Northwestern Wildcats (Hyattsville, MD), 74-68 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Walter Johnson upgrades its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Northwest (Germantown, MD) to play the Jaguars in a non-league bout on Friday, January 26. The Jaguars come into the bout with a record of 7-5. Northwest won 62-41 in their recent non-league bout against Damascus (Damascus, MD)
Next up, the Wildcats play the North County Knights (Glen Burnie, MD) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. Northwestern will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Knights come into the bout with a 2-10 record after their 67-48 league loss to Crofton (Gambrills, MD).
