West Virginia High School Basketball - Elkins overwhelms Jefferson
January 26, 2024: Elkins, WV 26241 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Elkins Tigers (Elkins, WV) and the visiting Jefferson Cougars (Shenandoah Junction, WV), saw Elkins's basketball squad wallop Jefferson by a tally of 57-30.
With the victory, Elkins improves its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Bridgeport (Bridgeport, WV) to play the Indians in a Big Ten challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 5-12. Bridgeport won 53-49 in their recent league challenge against Preston (Kingwood, WV)
Next up, the Cougars play the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles (Beckley, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 27. Jefferson will attempt to improve on its 1-12 season record. The Flying Eagles come into the challenge with a 2-9 record after their 44-29 league loss to Martinsburg (Martinsburg, WV).
