The Maury Commodores basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Granby Comets to 39 in the Commodores league triumph on Friday.

The Commodores now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lake Taylor for a Eastern contest on Wednesday, January 31. Maury will meet a Titans team coming off a 55-9 league win over Booker T. Washington (Norfolk, VA). The Titans record now stands at 12-3.

The Comets (5-10) will now prepare for their contest against Cox (Virginia Beach, VA). The Falcons enter the non-league contest with a 3-14 record. In their last contest, Cox was outscored by Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA), 44-43, in a league contest.
