Mississippi High School Basketball - Sacred Heart holds off Salem
January 26, 2024: Tylertown, MS 39667 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Sacred Heart Crusaders (Hattiesburg, MS) and the host Salem Wildcats (Tylertown, MS), saw Sacred Heart's basketball squad hold off Salem by a tally of 42-38.
With the victory, Sacred Heart improves its record to 2-16 on the campaign. The Crusaders travel to Lumberton (Lumberton, MS) to confront the Panthers in a 1A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 17-6. Lumberton won 12-0 in their recent league challenge against Resurrection Catholic (Pascagoula, MS)
Next up, the Wildcats confront the East Marion Eagles (Columbia, MS) in a 1A Region 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Salem will attempt to improve on its 1-15 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 8-10 record after their 48-45 league win over Enterprise (Brookhaven, MS).
