The Avery County Vikings basketball team scored 49 points and held the visiting Draughn Wildcats to 30 in the Vikings league triumph on Friday.

The Vikings now sport a 10-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mountain Heritage for a non-league contest on Friday, February 2. Avery County will meet a Cougars team coming off a 45-11 league win over Rosman (Rosman, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 7-5.
