Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Olton Mustangs (Olton, TX) and the visiting Farwell Steers (Farwell, TX), saw Olton's basketball squad hold off Farwell by a tally of 45-44.

With the victory, Olton improves its record to 23-3 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Bovina (Bovina, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 2A Region I District 3 challenge on Friday, January 28. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 4-12. Bovina lost 92-36 in their recent league challenge against Farwell (Farwell, TX)

Next, the Steers encounter the Vega Longhorns (Vega, TX) in a 2A Region I District 3 test, on Friday, January 28. Farwell will attempt to advance on its 20-5 season record. The Longhorns go into the test with a 6-8 record after their 52-34 league win over Boys Ranch (Boys Ranch, TX).
