Coventry Oakers (Coventry, RI) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI), 58-50 in a league bout.

With the victory, Coventry upgrades its record to 11-4 on the campaign. The Oakers travel to Rogers (Newport, RI) to play the Vikings in a Division 2 bout on Monday, January 31. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 13-0. Rogers won 55-40 in their recent non-league bout against Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI)

Next up, the Crusaders play the Tiverton Tigers (Tiverton, RI) in a Division 2 bout, on Friday, January 28. Prout will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 57-35 league loss to West Warwick (West Warwick, RI).
