Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV) and the host Sherman Tide (Seth, WV), saw Midland Trail's basketball squad overcome Sherman by a tally of 57-41.

With the victory, Midland Trail improves its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to PikeView (Princeton, WV) to confront the Panthers in a Coalfield AA challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 4-9. PikeView won 49-45 in their recent league challenge against WestSide (Clear Fork, WV)

Next up, the Tide confront the Gilmer County Titans (Glenville, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 4. Sherman will attempt to improve on its 7-8 season record.
