In Friday's league match, the host Pinecrest Patriots basketball team scored a decisive 79-57 triumph over the Southern Lee Cavaliers.

In their next game, the Patriots meet the Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 24 match, on Monday, January 30. Pinecrest will attempt to move on its 11-7 season record. The Fighting Scots enter the match with a 15-4 record after their 51-45 league win over Union Pines (Cameron, NC).
