Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Athens Wildcats (Athens, PA) and the visiting Wellsboro Hornets (Wellsboro, PA), saw Athens's basketball squad overcome Wellsboro by a tally of 44-29.

With the victory, Athens improves its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Canton (Canton, PA) to confront the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 28. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 7-9. Canton lost 56-33 in their recent league challenge against Northeast Bradford (Rome, PA)

Next up, the Hornets confront the Williamson Warriors (Tioga, PA) in a Northern Tier - Large challenge, on Friday, February 3. Wellsboro will attempt to improve on its 3-6 season record.
