Hillhouse Academics (New Haven, CT) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Guilford Grizzlies (Guilford, CT), 55-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hillhouse upgrades its record to 5-7 on the season. The Academics travel to Amity Regional (Woodbridge, CT) to play the Spartans in a Southern Connecticut - Oronoque bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 8-3.

Next up, the Grizzlies play the Ellington Knights (Ellington, CT) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 28. Guilford will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 10-3 record after their 75-31 league win over Sports & Medical Sciences Academy (Hartford, CT).
