Covington Catholic Colonels (Park Hills, KY) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Blazer Tomcats (Ashland, KY), 59-52 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Covington Catholic upgrades its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Colonels host Campbell County (Alexandria, KY) to play the Camels in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Camels come into the bout with a record of 14-4. Campbell County won 73-61 in their recent league bout against Scott (Covington, KY)

Next up, the Tomcats play the George Washington Patriots (Charleston, WV) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Blazer will attempt to upgrade on its 13-6 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 74-41 league win over Parkersburg (Parkersburg, WV).
