Virginia High School Basketball - Lake Taylor nips Oscar Smith

January 27, 2024: Norfolk, VA 23502

Lake Taylor Titans (Norfolk, VA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Oscar Smith Tigers (Chesapeake, VA), 62-56 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lake Taylor upgrades its record to 16-0 on the season. The Titans travel to Maury (Norfolk, VA) to play the Commodores in a Eastern bout on Wednesday, January 31. The Commodores go into the bout with a record of 15-4. Maury lost 35-32 in their recent non-league bout against Landstown (Virginia Beach, VA)

Next up, the Tigers play the Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA) in a Southeastern bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Oscar Smith will attempt to upgrade on its 14-2 season record. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a 2-12 record after their 74-54 league win over Hickory (Chesapeake, VA).
