New Jersey High School Basketball - Verona nips Roselle Park
January 27, 2024: Verona, NJ 07043 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Verona Hillbillies (Verona, NJ) and the visiting Roselle Park Panthers (Roselle Park, NJ), saw Verona's basketball squad hold off Roselle Park by a tally of 44-41.
With the victory, Verona improves its record to 6-11 on the campaign. The Hillbillies host Montclair (Montclair, NJ) to play the Mounties in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Mounties come into the challenge with a record of 7-7. Montclair lost 62-35 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, NJ)
Next up, the Panthers play the Spotswood Chargers (Spotswood, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 27. Roselle Park will attempt to improve on its 6-10 season record. The Chargers come into the challenge with a 11-5 record after their 84-76 league win over Timothy Christian (Piscataway, NJ).
