Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Western Wayne knocked off by Sayre
January 27, 2024: Sayre, PA 18840 The Sayre Redskins basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Western Wayne Wildcats to 44 in the Redskins non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Redskins now sport a 7-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northeast Bradford for a Northern Tier contest on Tuesday, January 30. Sayre will battle a Panthers team coming off a 57-50 league win over Canton (Canton, PA). The Panthers record now stands at 12-2.
The Wildcats (0-8) will now prepare for their contest against Scranton Prep (Scranton, PA). The Cavaliers enter the non-league contest with a 5-8 record. In their last contest, Scranton Prep was defeated by Abington Heights (Clarks Summit, PA), 89-64, in a league contest.
