Virginia High School Basketball - Saint Gertrude can't hold off Hanover
January 27, 2024: Mechanicsville, VA 23116 The Hanover Hawks basketball team scored 46 points and restricted the visiting Saint Gertrude Gators to 44 in the Hawks non-league victory on Saturday.
The Hawks now sport a 12-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Varina for a Capital contest on Tuesday, January 30. Hanover will battle a Blue Devils team coming off a 57-23 non-league loss to Hermitage (Richmond, VA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 3-13.
The Gators (9-9) will now prepare for their contest against Saint John Paul the Great Catholic (Dumfries, VA). The Wolves come into the VISAA Division I contest with a 8-9 record. In their last contest, Saint John Paul the Great Catholic edged Oakcrest (McLean, VA), 51-46, in a league contest.
