East Providence Townies (East Providence, RI) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Cranston East Thunderbolts (Cranston, RI), 45-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, East Providence upgrades its record to 3-2 on the season. The Townies host Classical (Providence, RI) to play the Purples in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Purples go into the challenge with a record of 9-4.

Next up, the Thunderbolts confront the Barrington Eagles (Barrington, RI) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Cranston East will attempt to improve on its 10-6 season record.
