The Laurel Locomotives (Laurel, MT) basketball edged the visiting Fergus Golden Eagles (Lewistown, MT), 40-36 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Locomotives now possess a 4-7 record. They play next when they travel to Park for a A Southeast bout on Friday, January 31. Laurel will play a Rangers team coming off a 64-57 non-league loss to Jefferson (Boulder, MT). The Rangers record now stands at 1-11.

With the loss, Fergus falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The Golden eagles host Hardin (Hardin, MT) to confront the Bulldogs in a non-league contest on Thursday, January 30.
