In Monday's league contest, the host South Barber Chieftains basketball team scored a close 51-44 triumph over the Skyline Thunderbirds.

The Chieftains (5-8) will now prepare for their contest against Attica (Attica, KS). The Bulldogs go into the Heart of the Plains contest with a 5-9 record. In their last contest, Attica was tipped by Cunningham (Cunningham, KS), 82-56, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Thunderbirds battle the Stafford Trojans (Stafford, KS) in a Heart of the Plains contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Skyline will attempt to better on its 4-9 season record.
