Illinois High School Basketball - Astoria/VIT nips Rushville-Industry
January 28, 2023: Rushville, IL 62681 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Astoria/VIT Rebels (Astoria, IL) and the host Rushville-Industry Rockets (Rushville, IL), saw Astoria/VIT's basketball squad hold off Rushville-Industry by a tally of 52-49.
With the victory, Astoria/VIT improves its record to 6-17 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Elmwood (Elmwood, IL) to play the Trojans in a Prairieland challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 15-7. Elmwood lost 67-37 in their recent league challenge against Illini Bluffs (Glasford, IL)
Next up, the Rockets play the Barry Western Wildcats (Barry, IL) in a West Central challenge, on Monday, January 30. Rushville-Industry will attempt to improve on its 1-18 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 4-19 record after their 60-39 non-league loss to Pleasant Hill (Pleasant Hill, IL).
