Indiana High School Basketball - Pendleton Heights nips Hamilton Southeastern
January 28, 2023: Pendleton, IN 46064 Pendleton Heights Arabians (Pendleton, IN) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Hamilton Southeastern Royals (Fishers, IN), 42-41 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Pendleton Heights upgrades its record to 5-12 on the campaign. The Arabians host Yorktown (Yorktown, IN) to play the Tigers in a Hoosier Heritage bout on Thursday, February 2. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 12-5. Yorktown won 67-60 in their recent non-league bout against Carroll (Fort Wayne, IN)
Next up, the Royals play the Franklin Central Flashes (Indianapolis, IN) in a Hoosier Crossroads bout, on Thursday, February 2. Hamilton Southeastern will attempt to upgrade on its 4-14 season record. The Flashes come into the bout with a 1-13 record after their 53-40 league loss to Fishers (Fishers, IN).
Fourth Quarter
A win always feels better than a loss and our Arabian boys' basketball team is feeling very good after a close game that was won in the last 2 seconds by an Isaac Wilson bucket. A great fourth quarter defensive effort sealed the win as Hamilton Southeastern only scored 4 points in the entire quarter. There were 8 different lead changes. Seven different Arabians scored points with Evan Mozingo leading the way with 15. He was followed by Josiah Gustin with 11, Aaron Cookston with 6, Caden Sims with 5, Isaac Wilson and Hunter Suchyna each scoring 2 and Brayden Kanitz with 1. Next game is this Thursday as the Yorktown Tigers come to PHHS for a Hoosier Heritage Conference game.
