Illinois High School Basketball - Springfield topped by Springfield Southeast
January 28, 2023: Springfield, IL 62704 The Springfield Southeast Spartans basketball team scored 67 points and restricted the host Springfield Senators to 59 in the Spartans league victory on Saturday.
The Spartans now sport a 11-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jacksonville for a Central State Eight contest on Friday, February 3. Springfield Southeast will battle a Crimsons team coming off a 75-46 league loss to MacArthur (Decatur, IL). The Crimsons record now stands at 6-19.
The Senators (8-18) will now prepare for their contest against Normal University (Normal, IL). The Pioneers come into the Central State Eight contest with a 18-7 record. In their last contest, Normal University prevailed over Glenwood (Chatham, IL), 55-51, in a league contest.
