Hertford County Bears (Ahoskie, NC) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they observed their basketball team nudge the visiting Northampton County Jaguars (Gaston, NC), 45-43 in a non-league game.

In their next game, the Bears face the First Flight Nighthawks (Kill Devil Hills, NC) in a 2A/3A Conference 15 game, on Tuesday, January 31. Hertford County will attempt to move on its 13-4 season record. The Nighthawks enter the game with a 11-5 record after their 44-31 league win over Camden County (Camden, NC).

With the defeat, Northampton County moves to 13-1 on the year. The Jaguars travel to Warren County (Warrenton, NC) to face the Eagles in a 1A Conference 9 game on Tuesday, January 31. The Eagles enter the game with a record of 5-10. Warren County lost 56-45 in their recent league game against Southeast Halifax (Halifax, NC)
