January 28, 2023: St. Joseph, IL 61873 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans (St. Joseph, IL) and the visiting New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly Vipers (New Berlin, IL), saw St. Joseph-Ogden's basketball squad hold off New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly by a tally of 43-40.
With the victory, St. Joseph-Ogden improves its record to 12-13 on the campaign. The Spartans host Rantoul (Rantoul, IL) to play the Eagles in a Illini Prairie challenge on Monday, January 30. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 3-14. Rantoul lost 48-41 in their recent non-league challenge against Riverton (Riverton, IL)
Next up, the Vipers play the Carlinville Cavaliers (Carlinville, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 30. New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly will attempt to improve on its 13-13 season record. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a 12-12 record after their 65-45 league loss to Greenville (Greenville, IL).
