New Jersey High School Basketball - Orange nips University
January 28, 2024: Orange, NJ 07050 Fans at Sunday's non-league challenge between the Orange Tornadoes (Orange, NJ) and the visiting University Phoenix (Newark, NJ), saw Orange's basketball squad hold off University by a count of 66-60.
With the victory, Orange upgrades its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Tornadoes travel to Belleville (Belleville, NJ) to play the Buccaneers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Buccaneers come into the challenge with a record of 7-7. Belleville won 62-50 in their recent non-league challenge against Patrick School (Hillside, NJ)
Next up, the Phoenix play the West Essex Knights (North Caldwell, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. University will attempt to improve on its 7-9 season record. The Knights come into the battle with a 6-8 record after their 65-46 non-league loss to Caldwell (West Caldwell, NJ).
