South Dakota High School Basketball - Northwestern Area can't hold off Faulkton
January 28, 2025: Faulkton, SD 57438 Faulkton Trojans (Faulkton, SD) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Northwestern Area Wildcats (Mellette, SD), 75-69 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Faulkton advances its record to 5-8 on the year. The Trojans host Leola/Frederick (Leola, SD) to face the Titans in a non-league match on Thursday, January 30. The Titans enter the match with a record of 14-2. Leola/Frederick won 62-51 in their recent non-league match against Britton-Hecla (Britton, SD)
The Wildcats now own a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Langford for a B Region 1 match on Friday, January 31. Northwestern Area will face a Lions squad coming off a 55-48 non-league win over Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] (Rosholt, SD). The Lions record now stands at 3-9.
