West Virginia High School Basketball - Wheeling Central Catholic knocks off Fort Frye
January 28, 2025: Wheeling, WV 26003 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights (Wheeling, WV) and the visiting Fort Frye Cadets (Beverly, OH), observed Wheeling Central Catholic's basketball team overcome Fort Frye by a margin of 66-47.
The Maroon Knights (12-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Williamstown (Williamstown, WV). The Yellowjackets come into the non-league challenge with a 10-3 record. In their last challenge, Williamstown defeated St. Marys (St. Marys, WV), 87-43, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Cadets battle the Shenandoah Zeps (Sarahsville, OH) in a Ohio Valley AA challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Fort Frye will attempt to better on its 5-12 season record. The Zeps come into the challenge with a 7-11 record after their 54-43 non-league loss to Strasburg-Franklin (Strasburg, OH).
