South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting New Albany Bulldogs (New Albany, MS), 52-49 in a league match.

With the victory, South Pontotoc advances its record to 15-10 on the year. The Cougars host Okolona (Okolona, MS) to face the Chieftains in a non-league match on Thursday, January 30. The Chieftains enter the match with a record of 10-14. Okolona lost 66-56 in their recent league match against West Lowndes (Columbus, MS)

The Bulldogs now own a 17-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ingomar for a non-league match on Thursday, January 30. New Albany will face a Falcons squad coming off a 74-36 league win over Bruce (Bruce, MS). The Falcons record now stands at 21-8.
