Texas High School Soccer - Wakeland knocks off Newman Smith
January 28, 2025: Carrollton, TX 75006 Fans at Tuesday's league battle between the Wakeland Wolverines (Frisco, TX) and the host Newman Smith Trojans (Carrollton, TX), saw Wakeland's soccer squad triumph over Newman Smith by a count of 8-0.
The Wolverines (9-0) will now prepare for their battle against Highland Park (Dallas, TX). The Scots go into the 5A Region 2 District 9 challenge with a 8-2 record. In their last challenge, Highland Park overcame Turner (Carrollton, TX), 6-0, in a league challenge.
With the loss, Newman Smith moves to 1-6 on the year. The Trojans travel to The Colony (The Colony, TX) to encounter the Cougars in a 5A Region 2 District 9 challenge on Friday, January 31. The Cougars go into the challenge with a record of 2-7. The Colony 3-3 in their recent league challenge against Reedy (Frisco, TX)
