Strong Vincent Colonels (Erie, PA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host Victor Blue Devils (Victor, NY), 56-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Strong Vincent upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Colonels travel to McDowell (Erie, PA) to play the Trojans in a District 10 Region 8 bout on Friday, February 4. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 11-4. McDowell lost 63-44 in their recent non-league bout against Bishop Timon-St. Jude (Buffalo, NY)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Canandaigua Academy Braves (Canandaigua, NY) in a Section 5 Monroe County I bout, on Tuesday, February 1. Victor will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Braves go into the bout with a 1-11 record after their 62-35 league loss to Irondequoit (Rochester, NY).
