Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Andrews Wildcats (Andrews, NC), 46-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Murphy upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Bulldogs host Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC) to play the Eagles in a Little Smoky Mountain 1A bout on Tuesday, February 2. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 3-3. Hiwassee Dam lost 68-58 in their recent non-league bout against Hayesville (Hayesville, NC)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) in a Big Smoky Mountain 1A bout, on Tuesday, February 2. Andrews will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Maroon Devils go into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 74-66 league loss to Cherokee (Cherokee, NC).
