Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Serra Catholic nips Winchester Thurston

Serra Catholic Eagles (McKeesport, PA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Winchester Thurston (Pittsburgh, PA), 70-65 in a league bout.

With the win, Serra Catholic upgrades its record to 7-8 on the season. The Eagles travel to Jeannette (Jeannette, PA) to play the Jayhawks in a WPIAL 2A 3 bout on Tuesday, February 1. The Jayhawks go into the bout with a record of 9-8. Jeannette lost 54-51 in their recent non-league bout against Geibel Catholic (Connellsville, PA)

Next up, the play the Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions (Greensburg, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 3 bout, on Wednesday, February 2. Winchester Thurston will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Centurions go into the bout with a 12-1 record after their 82-56 non-league win over Greater Latrobe (Latrobe, PA).
