South Dakota High School Basketball - Canistota knocked off by DeSmet
January 29, 2024: Canistota, SD 57012 The DeSmet Bulldogs basketball team scored 54 points and held the host Canistota Hawks to 36 in the Bulldogs non-league triumph on Monday.
The Bulldogs now sport a 11-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Elkton/Lake Benton for a non-league contest on Thursday, February 1. DeSmet will battle a Elks team coming off a 55-47 league win over Deuel (Clear Lake, SD). The Elks record now stands at 5-8.
The Hawks (9-2) will now prepare for their contest against Viborg/Hurley (Viborg, SD). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 10-1 record. In their last contest, Viborg/Hurley ran past Alcester-Hudson (Alcester, SD), 85-43, in a league contest.
