Minnesota High School Basketball - Staples-Motley crushes Verndale
January 29, 2024: Verndale, MN 56481 Staples-Motley Cardinals (Staples, MN) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Verndale Pirates (Verndale, MN), 72-46 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Staples-Motley upgrades its record to 9-7 on the season. The Cardinals host Crosby-Ironton (Crosby, MN) to play the Rangers in a AA Section 7 bout on Friday, February 2. The Rangers go into the bout with a record of 14-1. Crosby-Ironton won 68-60 in their recent league bout against Park Rapids (Park Rapids, MN)
Next up, the Pirates play the Pillager Huskies (Pillager, MN) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 1. Verndale will attempt to upgrade on its 2-14 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 9-8 record after their 71-47 league win over Hinckley-Finlayson (Hinckley, MN).
