Wisconsin High School Basketball - Lakeland overwhelms Wausau West
January 29, 2024: Wausau, WI 54401 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Lakeland Thunderbirds (Minocqua, WI) and the host Wausau West Warriors (Wausau, WI), saw Lakeland's basketball squad wallop Wausau West by a tally of 69-27.
With the victory, Lakeland improves its record to 16-2 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds travel to Northland Pines (Eagle River, WI) to confront the Eagles in a Great Northern challenge on Friday, February 2. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 7-11. Northland Pines lost 72-34 in their recent non-league challenge against Wittenberg-Birnamwood (Wittenberg, WI)
Next up, the Warriors confront the Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Red Raiders (Wisconsin Rapids, WI) in a Wisconsin Valley challenge, on Thursday, February 1. Wausau West will attempt to improve on its 6-11 season record. The Red Raiders come into the challenge with a 6-14 record after their 57-56 league loss to Merrill (Merrill, WI).
